HAPPY NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY!!!
This past weekend my family and I tried a handcraft ice cream shop in Old Town Alexandria. We finished brunch and decided to take the streets to hunt for a memorable ice cream shop to help fight the heat and satisfy our taste buds. Old Town Alexandria is one of my favorite places because it is filled with amazing boutiques and treat shops. After wandering for a little bit, we decided to look online. We noticed a place called Nicecream, it had 4 out of 5 stars but the pictures attracted me… I know that’s bad because you shouldn’t “judge a book by its cover”. But sometimes I get determined to try a restaurant if it looks like it delivers quality.
The ingredients Nicecream uses are local which is awesome. They also use cream from grass-fed cows. When you order, the Nicecream team makes your dessert from scratch in front of you. They even use liquid nitrogen to quickly freeze their product so it hardly takes any time at all. I like watching them put it together from scratch because I know what I’m getting. There are no hidden ingredients.
Not only was the ice cream good but the shop was an extremely cute place to be. It’s perfect for catching up with friends or even family day trips! If ice cream isn’t your go to on the summer days they also serve coffee, hand crafted hot chocolate, lattes, and other specialty drinks as well. But if you’re a fan of ice cream I tried the Very Berry Blueberry which was good. It had fresh blue berries and a very creamy taste. My Mom and Dad tried a flavor called Speculoos which tasted exactly like the Biscoff cookies. I highly recommend if they have it (liked that one better)! Overall, I would definitely take friends or family to try this place again!
