Happy New Years Everyone! Now that all the holiday shenanigans are over, all we have to worry about is keeping warm this cold season. What I love most about Winter is the fashion. I am all for sweaters, leggings, boots, and winter accessories, so it makes Winter fashion so fun for me. It means being stylish and comfy all at the same time! Who doesn’t love that?
This winter seems to be the coldest since 2010. Even when I went to Canada Nick and his family were saying that it hasn’t been this cold in a while; Apparently, this season is a “cold snap” in Canada. I would say the same for the East Coast even if it’s not comparable to Canada “cold”.
Every year I always gravitate towards the same winter essentials: an oversized sweater or cardigan, warm pair of leggings, thick socks, and of course your winter accessories (hats, gloves, scarves). I love this oversized cardigan from Anthropologie (similar HERE, HERE, HERE). One of the most important things to staying warm is layering underneath. I like to pair my sweaters with 32 Degrees Cozy Heat Long-Sleeves. It comes in 6 different colors and it makes the biggest difference out in the cold. 32 Degrees also have jackets, leggings (have and love too), and fleeces. Another one of my favorite winter essentials is leggings!! I think this is every girl’s essential all year around. But during the winter its a must, to switch to fleece leggings. Over the years I’ve tried some from TJ Maxx and Macy’s but those have either snagged or have too much lint build up, but I’ve finally found some that don’t snag, get lint build up, or ride up on me! I purchased them from DSW and they are under $14!
Now my current favorite winter essential are these Marc Fisher boots! Investing in a great pair of boots are essential to a winter wardrobe. Shearling boots are definitely in this season and I completely understand why. It adds such a cute detail to your boots and they can add extra warmth. For the last 3 years of going to Canada every winter, my feet have never been warmer because of these boots. I’ve brought Hunters which were great for the ice but your feet get cold if you don’t double up on socks. Uggs are always reliable for warmth but they’re not the best with salt and slush on the ground (they have actual snow boots now and I hope to try them sometime because I heard they’re great also. I linked them as well!). But these Marc Fisher boots are all around warm, comfy, and what I love most is that it goes with all my outfits (look super cute with chunky socks)!! These are unfortunately sold out now but here are a bunch of similar ones that I love just as much!! HERE (got in grey and absolutely love these too), HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE (These white booties are so cute also!!).
Happy shopping everyone and stay warm! 🙂
I love my handsome Canadian ❤ *all the heart eyes*
